Engine tune-up in Kamloops
Updated
What's included in a tune-up?
A tune-up at LSG Auto Nation in Kamloops replaces the parts that wear out and keep your engine running smoothly, starting with the spark plugs and, where needed, the ignition coils, engine air filter and PCV valve. We also scan for fault codes and check the belts, hoses and fluids. Same-day service is available.
How we can help
Spark plug replacement
Worn spark plugs cause misfires, rough idling, hard starts and poor fuel economy. We replace them with the type and gap your manufacturer specifies, at the interval in your owner's manual, or sooner if they're causing problems.
Ignition coil replacement
A failing ignition coil causes a misfire in that cylinder, often with a steady or flashing check-engine light. We test the coils, replace any that have failed and let you know if the others are nearing the end of their life.
Engine air filter and PCV valve
A clogged engine air filter starves the engine of air, and a stuck PCV valve can cause oil leaks, rough idling and higher oil consumption. Both are quick to check and replace during a tune-up.
Fuel system: fuel pump, injectors and EVAP
A weak fuel pump, dirty fuel injectors or a leak in the EVAP system, the part that traps fuel vapour, can cause hard starts, hesitation, poor fuel economy or a check-engine light. We test the fuel pressure, check the injectors and test the EVAP system for leaks.

Tune-Up & Fuel System FAQ
How often does my car need a tune-up?
There's no single interval for modern cars. Spark plugs last from about 50,000 km for basic plugs to 160,000 km or more for long-life plugs, so follow the schedule in your owner's manual, and come in sooner if the engine runs rough.
What are the signs I need a tune-up?
Rough idling, misfires, hesitation, hard starting, a drop in fuel economy and a check-engine light are the most common signs.
Will a tune-up improve my fuel economy?
If worn plugs, a failing coil or a clogged air filter were making the engine run poorly, yes. If the engine was already running well, the difference will be small.
Is a flashing check-engine light a tune-up problem?
It often means a misfire, which can come from a worn spark plug or a failing ignition coil. Slow down and have it checked soon, because misfires can damage the catalytic converter.
Can my tune-up be done the same day?
Same-day service is available for most tune-ups, and walk-ins are welcome. We'll confirm the timing with your quote.
