Is it dangerous to drive with an exhaust leak?

It can be. A leak can let carbon monoxide into the cabin, and you can't see or smell it. If you notice fumes inside the car, drive with the windows open and have it inspected right away.

Why is my car suddenly so loud?

A sudden roar usually means a hole in the muffler or a pipe, or a failed joint or gasket. Rust from winter road salt is a common cause.

What causes a rattle under the car?

Loose or rusted heat shields and broken hangers or clamps are the usual causes. They're often quick to fix once we find them.

Can an exhaust problem turn on the check-engine light?

Yes. Leaks near the oxygen sensors or a failing catalytic converter can trigger fault codes. We read the codes and inspect the system to find the cause.

Do you replace catalytic converters?
