Car AC service in Kamloops

Updated

What does an AC service include?

An AC service at LSG Auto Nation in Kamloops checks how cold your air conditioning blows, tests the system pressures, looks for refrigerant leaks, and checks the compressor, fans and cabin air filter. If the system is low on refrigerant, we find out why before recharging it.

How we can help

  • Car AC recharge

If your AC is low on refrigerant, we find out why, then recharge the system to the amount your vehicle specifies and confirm it's blowing cold. Refrigerant doesn't get used up, so a low system means there's a leak somewhere. Every AC recharge includes a free courtesy inspection.

  • AC leak diagnosis

Car AC systems are sealed, so low refrigerant means a leak in a hose, seal, condenser or the compressor. We check for leaks before recharging, so the cold air lasts instead of fading again within a few weeks.

  • AC blowing warm air

Warm air can be caused by low refrigerant, a compressor that isn't engaging, a condenser fan that isn't running or a fault in the AC controls. We test the vent temperature and system pressures to pinpoint the cause before recommending a repair.

  • Cabin air filter check

A clogged cabin air filter reduces airflow from the vents and can cause a musty smell when the AC runs. We check it during every AC service and let you know if it's due for replacement.

What's included

  • A vent temperature and system pressure test
  • A refrigerant leak check
  • A check of the compressor, condenser fan and blower

AC Service FAQ

Why is my car AC blowing warm air?

The most common cause is low refrigerant from a slow leak. A failing compressor, a blocked condenser, a faulty fan or an electrical fault can also stop the AC from cooling. We test the system to find the actual cause.

Will a recharge fix my AC?

A recharge restores cooling if the system is simply low. If there's a leak, the refrigerant will escape again, so we check for leaks and tell you if a repair is needed first.

Why does my AC smell musty?

A musty smell usually comes from moisture and mould on the evaporator or a dirty cabin air filter. Replacing the filter often helps, and we can check it during the service.

Should I service my AC before summer?

Yes. Kamloops summers get hot, and having the AC checked in spring means any leak or fault is fixed before you need it most.

Why does my AC blow cold, then warm?

AC that switches between cold and warm usually points to a low refrigerant level, a compressor clutch that keeps cutting out, a cooling fan that isn't working or an electrical fault. We test the system while it runs to find the cause.
